Intermediate Incident Command Skills for Justice Level 4 (ICL2)
This 5-day course at based at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service headquarters in Eastleigh is for FRS Watch Managers or above to develop their skills to lead, manage, cooperate and support an incident as an Operational Tactical Commander.
Course objectives include maintaining safe, competent and motivated Initial L2 commanders, and be able to understand key roles and responsibilities within Incident Command and functional command and leadership skills within Incident Command. Additionally, candidates will understand the application of effective decision making during operational incidents, the principles of risk management at operational incidents and the methods of communication for operational incidents.
By the end of the course candidates will understand components of joint working and interoperability with other agencies, be able to review and determine the status of operational incidents and be able to assume responsibility for actions to support those involved in operational incidents, and be able to review responses to operational incidents.
Delivery methods are via Learning and Development trainers utilising command simulation software for assessment, different elements covering Command, and Leadership and decision-making processes.
