HIWFRS King’s Trust Programme

Every young person should have the chance to succeed.

                                                                                                      King’s Trust

For us at 3SFire CIC, The King’s Trust is an ongoing project. We are able to provide funding from our profits made from the sale of Business Fire Safety, including Fire Risk Assessments and Fire Warden Training along with Specialist Training including Animal Rescue, Incident Command and Firefighter Trainee Courses.

The King’s Trust

Now that His Majesty is King, The Prince’s Trust has formally changed to The King’s Trust.

“At The King’s Trust, we believe that every young person should have the chance to succeed, no matter their background or the challenges they are facing. We help young people from disadvantaged communities and those facing the greatest adversity by supporting them to build the confidence and skills to live, learn and earn.”

3SFire are helping to support the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service (HIWFRS) King’s Trust team to do that.

The King’s Trust was founded in 1976, when His Majesty King Charles III (then the Prince of Wales) had a courageous idea to become dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people, age 16 to 25, in the UK who are not working or in any form of education.

The HIWFRS King’s Trust Team Programme

HIWFRS King’s Trust Team Programme builds your confidence, teaches you teamwork, helps you gain new skills and gives you a positive routine.

The team deliver 9 team programmes a year, 6 in Hampshire and 3 on the Isle of Wight. Three teams run concurrently with cohorts starting in September, January and May each year with each programme lasting 12 weeks.

Why ADHD and Neurodiverse Training?

“Since January 2020, a total of 39% of the young people we have worked with have had a learning need, most typically this has been Autism, ADHD or Dyslexia.  The King’s Trust Team are very keen to support these learners better by having appropriate resources to support them with their learning and also by completing training courses to upskill them in supporting these young people.”

Neurodiverse training specialising in ADHD and Autism took place with the team’s, in November, which provided the team leaders with specialist knowledge to aid the youth along their journey to “change your life in 12 weeks”.
