2023 started with two new squads of trainees for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. 3SFire and HIWFRS welcomed, for the second time, 3 trainees from Jersey Fire and Rescue Service.
The Trainees course gives trainees the firefighter pathway knowledge they need to embark on their new careers. Trainees learn a vast array of skills and knowledge throughout the 18 week course covering: Pumps and Ladders, Using breathing apparatus, Safe Working at Height, Immediate Emergency Care, Road Traffic Collision, HAZMAT and much more. The course culminated in a graduation ceremony where the trainees got to show their loved ones and new colleagues some of the new skills that they have learnt.
Thank you to all of the Learning and Development team at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service for all of their hard work.
3SFire wish all the trainees the very best in their new careers. We are looking forward to welcoming new trainees in August.
