RTC Heavy Rescue
This 1-day course based at Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service headquarters in Eastleigh instructs students in the theoretical knowledge of Road Traffic Collision (RTC) Heavy Rescue incident types, heavy rescue stabilisation, heavy rescue lifting plans, hazards, drop zones, and safety cells. Additionally, it provides instruction on practically stabilising and lifting RTC heavy rescue vehicles in various orientations using fire service equipment from the Rescue Support Vehicle (RSV).
By the end of the course, participants will have acquired theoretical knowledge of RTC heavy rescue incident types, heavy rescue stabilisation, heavy rescue lifting plans, hazards, drop zones, and safety cells. They will also be able to safely and practically stabilise and lift RTC heavy rescue vehicles in various orientations using fire service equipment from the RSV.
